Regular Cleaning & Maintenance
We believe preventative care is important to stay in perfect oral health which is why we highly recommend regular teeth cleanings and exams as well as practicing good oral hygiene (brushing and flossing) at home. We recommend that patients of all ages have their teeth cleaned and examined at least twice a year. For children, it is important to ensure that baby teeth grow in properly and stay healthy until adult teeth are ready to come in. As people age into adults, their risk for oral infection increases because as teeth age, their protective enamel starts to wear away which makes it easier to get a cavity. Tooth Sealants
Sealants are highly effective in preventing tooth decay on the biting surfaces of chewing teeth. A sealant is a simple procedure in which family dental dentists places a clear or tooth-colored acrylic “coating” onto the surface of the tooth. This effectively “seals” the deep grooves where decay is most likely to begin. This technique is usually done on permanent molars as soon as they have come in enough to be sealed. Sometimes, primary molars have grooves deep enough to require sealing as well. At less than half the cost of conventional fillings, without any anesthetics or drilling, sealants are one of the most important preventive tools Rajabally Family Dentistry offers.
Low-Radiation Digital X-Rays
Rajabally Family Dentistry offers in-office digital x-rays for your convenience. Digital x-rays are computer-generated images that require up to 90% less radiation than with conventional film-type x-rays. Instead of using the traditional silver-oxide x-ray film, which must be developed and then fixed in caustic and environmentally damaging solutions, the new system takes pictures via a small electronic sensor and instantaneously transmits a picture of the tooth onto the monitor in the treatment room so we can see your teeth & surrounding structures immediately.
